Aloha my name is Christie Zimmer. I am from Pāpa’ikou, and I live in Kea’au, Puna. Jason is my husband and together we have 2 children; U’ilani and Kalalau. They’ve been dancing hula for 10 years with this hālau. I am a Kumu at Kamehameha Schools Preschools for 25 years. I am excited to be a part of this hālau.

Kayla Lindsey-Asing is from Kāneʻohe, Oʻahu, and now calls Hilo home with her husband Kalā and their three keiki—Kahalekulu, Kaluhea, and Leimāmane—students at Ke Kula ʻo Nāwahīokalaniʻōpuʻu. A lifelong hula practitioner of over 35 years, she believes hula is a living expression of heritage and a way to carry ʻohana legacies forward, honoring kūpuna, ʻāina, and moʻolelo.
Kayla serves as the Hawaiʻi ʻImi Loa Experience Director at ʻImiloa Center, UH Hilo, creating culturally grounded experiences that connect community, language, and place. She holds a B.S. in Travel Industry Management from UH Mānoa and brings more than 20 years of experience in Hawaiian language education, event coordination, and hospitality. A passionate advocate for ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi, she previously worked with ʻAha Pūnana Leo and currently serves on the boards of Keu, The Brand and Ke Kula ʻo Nāwahīokalaniʻōpuʻu Iki, PCS Papa Alakaʻi.

Ms. Kobashigawa was born and raised in Kaʻalaea, Oʻahu but has since made Waiākea, Hawaiʻi her home. She is a board member, parent, and student of Hālau I Ka Leo Ola O Nā Mamo..
